A New Year’s Eve Froth-Up
Happy New Year’s Eve, dear reader! Peter and I are back in Illinois after driving 14.5 hrs straight from CT yesterday. By not stopping as often, we managed to shave over an hour off our driving time – nice! Not that the 15.75 hrs it took to drive the distance the first time wasn’t awesome … still, I’ll take a shorter drive any day.
Bonnie napped on our laps during the drive. Here she is snoozing on mine (and acting as an impromptu prop for my knitting):
Maddie likes to lie on piles of stuff in the back (and yes, our car was PACKED). Here, she is lying across my pillow and a cooler that contained our lunch and dinner. Easy access to nibbles, for her and for us.
So! I know I promised you a fun recipe today, but I had a lot of work to catch up on and thus the recipe must wait ’til next time. Instead, I wanted to show you the Cadillac of milk frothers: the Capresso frothPRO:
I had been eyeing this milk frother for a while. If you recall, I got an Ikea milk frother instead because it’s less than 10% of the price. Of course. You can imagine my excitement when I received the Capresso from Peter’s parents as a Christmas present. Just push a button and you have hot, frothy milk in less than a minute.
Check out this froth!
Over coffee with a sprinkle of cinnamon:
Not only is this frother quick and easy to use, it saves your hands – holding a shaking Ikea milk frother for five minutes sends vibrations all the way up your arm. After using it, I always felt like I’d been weigh-lifting for an hour. Without the obvious benefits of course. Like stronger muscles, or a sense of accomplishment 😉
Next up: frothed hot chocolate!
Q: Any plans for New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day? Peter and I are off to play a board game marathon with some friends, then hang out with our neighbors for a bit. I’m sure we’ll be asleep long before the ball drops 🙂
Frothed milk is the BEST. Love that foam on top.
Happy new year’s love!
I had never heard of this frother and all of a sudden, I need to have one 🙂 Oh, and we’ve done some super long drives so I understand what a big deal it is to go without stopping. Glad you guys got home safely. Happy New Year, friend!
Happy 2013! We had a quiet evening at home but managed to stay up (with a little nap…) until midnight.
Enjoy your new frother!
Happy New Year, Andrea! 🙂
