More Adventures at on20
Hello to all THIH readers! To continue my series of pre-written posts, I’ll share with you an exquisite meal that Peter and I and his parents and sister ate at on20. Longtime readers may remember this meal we ate at on20 awhile back. This meal was just as visually and gustatorily pleasing as the last one. Let’s start, shall we?
Asparagus souffle with cracklings-covered radish amuse:
Flaky veggie tart with creme fraiche:
Seafood ragu with thick homemade noodles and lobster foam:
An amuse of chocolate, caramel, and cream:
A lemon beignet amuse:
Apricot with other deliciousness that I unfortunately do not recall:
The chocolate tasting plate:
Basil gelate, chocolate, and some delicious pink foam:
Chocolate cake with passionfruit:
One of the best chocolate ice creams I’ve ever tasted:
A nutty nougat to finish:
As you can probably guess by my puddles of drool, these dishes were delicious beyond words. on20 really knows how to pamper their guests. I say “guests” because that’s exactly how patrons are treated. I’ll be back again before too long.
Q: What’s your favorite dessert?
Omg Jess those desserts have me drooling and I am not a huge chocolate fan (or a sweets fan for that matter).
This last dish looks very much like a Greek nugat-y confection called mandolato (basically the word means that the sweet contains almonds):

But that is too sweet to be my favourite dessert. These days my dessert consists mainly of fruit, the more refreshing the better, but I usually find that ice-cream is my go-to sweet after a meal.
I hope you’re having loads of fun in China!! ๐
Oh the horror! I just read in your previous post that you have returned from your trip!! So I will turn to past tense: I hope you HAD loads of fun in China and that you are enjoying your first few days back home!! xx
OH BABY, OH BABY.
My puddle of drool just joined your puddle of drool.
It’s not very often that I dine in a restaurant where fancy dishes such as asparagus souffle are served, especially not in such an exquisite presentation-style… 0.o I’m glad to hear the taste lived up to the appearance! (Sometimes, it’s not like that!)
My favourite dessert is…something Asian. Either chilled sweet white fungus soup or taro tapioca soup. Or…green bean soup. Cold, of course. ๐ YUMMERS.
That looks like a lovely meal…and very fancy!
My favourite dessert would be raw coconut cookies from my favourite raw restaurant. Or raw vegan chocolate chip cookie dough made with cashews and oats.
Hope you’re adjusting to the time ok. Sometimes when I get back from travelling long distance, I spend the day sleeping in and napping and the the night sleeping as well. When you have to recuperate from a vacation, that’s when you know you had a great one. We just got back from a 2 day road trip with a 3 and 1 yr old so that’s a whole different type of recuperating ;-).
Serious drool dripping down my chin here! Such gorgeous presentation. I’m glad you liked it enough to want to go back. My favorite dessert used to be cheesecake or creme brรปlรฉe; now it’s pavlova. Just had my first slice this week at a taste tripping party and fell in love with it. What’s your favorite dessert. You know, sometimes I’m almost tempted to say durian but then I remind myself that it’s a fruit, not a dessert. Sure tastes like one doesn’t it? Hope you’re getting sone good rest and recuperation in.
Those dishes look so BEAUTIFUL. I love beautiful food ๐
that lemon beignet looks liek a delicious little elephant lol haha.. totally see it in the shape ๐
xoxo
oh my, awesome food!
That cake with passion fruit on top looks amazing.
hm, my favorite dessert…
does cereal count? ๐
it would probably include lots of chocolate. Chocolate chip cookies, or a muffin, or an amazing cake… yeah, chocolate ๐
I love places like that where you get to try a little sample of a lot of different things. I don’t really have a favorite dessert — pretty much anything with dark chocolate. ๐
I will probably never get there – but WOWOWOWOW. I just went to the restaurant website and it is unnerving. What an incredible meal. So lucky you are to live close. Great photos, too!

oh how amazing are those? I love the wee portion sizes too…nothing grosses me out more than a ham hock sized dessert.
Fave dessert? Probably a classic lemon tart. A good one is hard to beat!
Omg, I would be all over that lemon beignet!!!!! What a fabulous meal!! I love going to places like that where the portion sizes are just right.
My favorite dessert would have to be 2 chocolate chip cookies with buttercream icing in the middle and dipped into milk chocolate. ๐
